Indian, not the arrow
November 15, 2022
While the title of this post is something I believe, I also believe in good arrows! Velocity is my favorite and most used ball, both in the traditional white and the matte green. For a while over the summer the matte green were pretty hard to find, supply chain issues, I guess. As a result, they were selling on EBAY for $70+ per dozen. Now, clearly, that's too much even for my favorite ball. Good news is they are back in stores and on line. My only gripe, if you can call it that, is that the 2021 balls would get a little smooth, losing the matte finish, after a round or two. Small price to play if it means the ball stayed on the course and didn't get lost. They really do result in less spin, so what might have been a well hit slice becomes a power fade. Can still be sliced or hooked, but hitting it straighter breeds confidence, and confidence breeds better swings and fewer errant shots. I've not found a longer ball on well hit shots with any of my clubs.
Cons
- Sometimes starts to lose the matte finish. Not losing a ball for two rounds might eventually wear the numbers off the ball.
