Good budget simulator
January 27, 2018
This is a great little system for a great price. It does have a few quirks with lighting, but nothing that can't be overcome. Use it for practice and the option to play in monthly tournaments is a lot of fun.
Pros
  • budget friendly
  • Fun
  • Helpful
Cons
  • Trying to get the lighting and settings just right.

You get what you pay for.
January 23, 2018
The product is cheap, therefore, you get what you pay for, more like an inaccurate toy that breaks easily.

Merchant Response:Thank you for the feedback! The customer service crew has been notified of your issue and will be reaching out ASAP to help. I am sorry for the inconvenience.
Pros
  • Cheap.
Cons
  • Numerous. Very inaccurate, requires special lighting, have to calibrate all your clubs and even then, it still doesn't work.
  • Don't waste your money. Do some research for a more accurate, more realistic system.

Best budget Golf Sim
January 3, 2018
I installed my OptiShot2 about 6 weeks ago and have used it several times. Although it is dependent on proper lighting, when the lighting is right, the system works pretty well. It lacks the features of a full-fledged golf sim (ball angle, ball tracking, etc.) but gets the important parts (club speed, club path, club angle). I am not a pro golfer but am striving to become better, the OptiShot2 gives me valuable feedback which I can use to better adjust my shots. For the price I'd recommend the OptiShot2!

Great affordable simulator

I got this simulator for my office and we all love it. It may not be 100% accurate such as a ball flight tracker, but it is close enough and provides hours of fun.

Best training aid on the market

DISCLAIMER!! It does take a little time and effort to set up your clubs. You will need to go in and calibrate each club along with adjust distances to match your real life numbers. You will also have to mess around with lighting since the optishot doesn't work in direct sunlight. I also have to put masking tape on the bottom side of my woods because the sensors have a hard time reading reflective (particuarly black reflective) surfaces. . Once you have done that and got the computer reading your shots correctly this will be the best investment you have ever made for your golf game. I have mine set up in my garage and I use it every single day. I use it to warm up before I go play a round. And I use it to work on my swing at night. This will show you your swing path and flu face at impact the two most important parts of a golf swing. Once you get it setup, it will be one of the best investments you've ever made.
Pros
  • Driving range at your house
Cons
  • It does take some time to set up to your clubs

Bargain simulator
December 31, 2015
At less than $400 this simulator is a real bargain. Graphics better than most other simulators. Great way to spend winter months (Michigan)
Pros
  • A real bargain
  • Excellent graphics
  • Good set of basic courses included
  • Now has on-line playing (haven't used that tho)
  • Mac compatible
Cons
  • Requires proper lighting to work OK
  • Clubs must be calibrated and in some cases have
  • reflective tape added so sensors can read club
  • Best to have optional full mat so feet at same height as sensor pad,
  • but that takes up needed swing clearance to ceiling
  • User interface could be improved
  • As noted, needs high ceiling clearance to take full swing

fun game for the Michigan winter
January 11, 2015
The Optishot 2 has great graphics, and is really fun to play when you can't go outside and golf. With a little altering of each golf club setting, I was able to get my distances pretty accurate. The only time I got bad readings (wrong distances or swing speeds) is when the lighting was bad; late in the evening. With some extra UV lighting aimed at the strike pad, I was able to get accurate readings again. The different choices of golf courses included in the game are fun, but I am surprised how much ($30 per course) it costs to get more courses. I haven't hooked the system up to a tv or projector yet but that would be a fun extra to improve the game.
Pros
  • Easy set up, great feed back for each swing, fun games.
Cons
  • Expensive unit, expensive extra golf courses, system acts up with bad lighting.
