Okay but
March 9, 2020
Good for a few swings to loosen up after sitting in car driving to course before you go to practice range or to first tee if you're running late but as a training aid it's next to useless.
Pros
  • Good for a few swings to loosen muscles ...
Cons
  • Has no feedback to tell you if your tempo is improving

Grip is worse than useless and can't be replaced.
January 30, 2020
I can only assume that the good reviews have come from people who got this and used it once or twice as actual, long-term ownership is a completely different experience. This is *almost* a good product. It does in fact target the specific muscles used in the swing, builds strength, increases flexibility and keeps the club on plane. But it's done in by one fatal flaw that ruins the entire thing. The grip that comes with it is hard, slick, small and will be useless inside a month. I got mine for Christmas and it's already useless. The grip is so cheap that it turns rock hard after only moderate use. Once that happens the product can't be used as anything but a paperweight. The grip can't be changed out for a normal grip and can't be replaced with anything except the same make and model from the manufacturer. If you read some product descriptions on other sites it includes a disclaimer and warning that the grip can't be changed or replaced. RBG omits that CRITICAL information, it should be the first thing listed as it's the most pertinent thing to know for a prospective buyer.

Good, but don't overdo it
November 9, 2019
Yes, it is great for loosening up before round. Yes, it does teach you tempo. Be careful, if you only rely on this thing for winter training, you unlearn covering the ball, as this one has no directional que for your brain. Good for dedicated use, will not replace swinging at the real golf ball..

Hit more fairways....
July 3, 2017
I've had this for 3 years. I swing the SKLZ about 15 times in each direction to open up my back and swing. It makes a dramatic difference to my game and at least 10 other players at my club have purchased the same piece of equipment. The club feels lighter during the game too. I'd recommend the 48" over the 40" trainer. I know this equipment is legal to carry on the course, but I don't know if it is legal to swing during the round. I really don't care because everyone in my 4 ball swings the SKLZ during the round !! Go for it. It's the best training aid I've ever had.
Pros
  • Long lasting, reasonable (paid $52 at RBG), drops a stroke or two, protects your driver when you travel (since this is longer than your driver)
Cons
  • Can't think of a single negative.

Sklz Golf Flex
October 23, 2015
Does what I need to do. It gives me a good stretch and promotes using your body in the swing. If you want to feel what it is like to whip the club though impact pick one of these up. One thing to note: You cannot change the grip to a bigger one. It is weird diameter and the tape they used was minimal. This caused my grip to become loose and move. I had to pull it off and re-tape it. I use midsize grips and it would have been nice to be able to slap one on there
Pros
  • Performs as advertised.
Cons
  • Weird grip that you cannot change out.

Good for warm up before round
September 18, 2015
This is the second of these tempo trainers that I bought this year. This one is going to the winter home. I like using it to loosen up before a round. I take a dozen swings with it. For me, it is useful to slow down my swing so my chest does not get out in front of my arms inducing a pull to the left side of the fairway.
