Best swing trainer I have used
July 9, 2015
This thing just works. Its flex and weight distribution force you to swing properly. I spotted one in Danny Lee's bag as he warmed up on the range at the Greenbriar, so I am not alone!

Works great for tempo and helps with power. I hit some of the longest drives I have hit in a while, but my old tempo came back at the end of the round. I need to use it more
Pros
  • Fits in bag, great tempo
Cons
  • As with all training aids, it is up to you to put in the practice to get the benifits

I get more out of 5 minutes this device than I do 1 hour on the range. My balance and rhythm improved drastically after just a few days.

now I know what all the great reviews and ratings are all about... this is a great training tool for the golf swing to get a good tempo going and help with dialing in your swing plane. at first, I thought this was a bit overpriced, but it helps tremendously and improves your flexibility and exercises your core. it's worth it!

The best training aid on the market

I have used the medicus club, the swing jacket, the weighted club, the kallassys swing magic with little to no result. This club has everything and more that you need to develop the proper tempo and really feel the swing using the core. I love the drills and the feedback is without question.
Pros
  • Love the weighted feel and instant feedback
Cons
  • If it had an option to shrink it into an iron, wedge, and putter without having to purchase the other clubs separately. If it only smelled like a fresh orange when using it.

The orange whip has helped strengthen my swing and build tempo. When swinging correctly my stance is balanced. If I twist my shoulders or hips too quickly I lose balance and step out of my stance.
Pros
  • Easy to use.

Best Warm Up
December 26, 2014
At first I thought it was kind of awkward a little heavy. Because I was fighting the whip, its all about tempo. It quickly found a swing fault that I have been fighting the last half of the season. I do not take lessons I rely on the range to grove my swing. The orange whip within a few days of use has quickly put my swing in smooth tempo and my swing has the correct grove with out hitting a large bucket of balls day after day. I have a ton of other trainers they all helped i my development of a good solid swing but the orange whip put it all together UNBELIEVABLE !
Pros
  • It will not let you over swing
  • You have to swing in good rhythm and tempo
  • Your mechanics have to be correct
  • Great warm up best I have ever used

Sorry, I guess I just dated myself. If you are struggling and want to figure out how to actually SWING the golf club. Get the Whip and enlightenment shall be yours!! Swing this thing as often as you can and actually learn how the golf club was intended to be used!
Pros
  • I hear a lot of Pros use this thing.
Cons
  • I don't think Cons should have access to this thing as it could be used as a weapon!!

A good training aide
April 30, 2014
I was familiar with using the Orange Whip at my club. I wanted more time to work with it, so I bought my own. It helps with flexibility, tempo and especially the feeling of lag. It is not a panacea for curing problem swings, but it does help to groove better fundamentals. My advice is to try one out first, then buy if you like how it works.

Right out of the box, I was impressed with the overall construction quality of the Orange Whip. I was also very skeptical as to how effective it may be after a swing or two. Once I settled into a few swings and focused on staying in balance and rhythm I began to feel like I was much more in "control" during a swing. A few minutes with the Orange Whip before I head to the course really seems to help promote that smooth tempo and help my issues with getting quick and casting on the downswing. Not to mention it is great for a quick warmup, usually my 1st tee shot is the worst shot of the day but after warming up it's a whole lot less embarrassing!
Pros
  • - Great Quality
  • - Ease of Use

Great start
April 30, 2014
Have only had the orange whip for a few days but have used it each day. Loved the instant feedback that golfing muscles were being used. Today was first day on course after using the orange whip and every drive went straight down the middle. Could be entirely coincidental but I did try visualizing what he whip felt like and seemed to work a treat. Long may it continue.
Pros
  • Does what it says. Great results so far,
Cons
  • Expensive getting it to New Zealand.

this orange is a really great warm up tool, especially if your jumping out of the car onto the tee... if i don't have time to hit balls i add it to the daily stretch - it seems to help keep the shoulders and back swing - the flex is just right for the wrists ......i also have the swoosh trainer which is the last thing i swing fast before i tee off ....swing both on a bosu ball great for balance work
Pros
  • great flex, a bit lighter than the skilz trainer which is to heavy
Cons
  • a bit spendy

Whip it, Whip it good
November 26, 2013
I think this little piece of equipment is surprisingly good. As I have stated I am brand new to golf and am trying very hard not to get into too many bad habits from the start. By using the Orange Whip it makes you turn your upper body, makes you pause before you commence your downswing and makes you follow through. If you do it correctly it is relatively easy and you think there's nothing to this. But then you get ahead of yourself and before you know it you are off balance. I think this is about learning tempo. Making you aware of how far you can turn your torso whilst keeping your legs in a relatively stable position beneath you. And pausing at the top of your backswing. As a beginner something I realise is very important.
Pros
  • Simple to use.
Cons
  • The instruction booklet, more like a pamphlet, needs to be improved. Maybe a CD to accompany it or a link to a website where you can watch exactly how to use it. It is not as if you are ever going to hit a ball with this piece of equipment so more instructions on how to get the most out of a relatively expensive training aid would be a wonderful addition.

Great for improving your swing AND for getting a good core workout
August 1, 2013
This thing is AWESOME! It should definitely help your swing. The whip really gets your body to react correctly to how the main parts of your body should work together in the golf swing (everyone's swing is slightly different) - to include disassociation between the hips and upper body. Additionally, beware, if you're not in all that great of shape then this thing will give you a good workout and you will feel it the next morning. I've added exercises with this to my regular workout routine.
Pros
  • - Gives you a great feeling for how the body should work in a golf swing
  • - Can be used with your core workout routine
  • - AWESOME all around! I can't wait to try the other two (smaller whips)
Cons
  • - None so far
