Ordered a Ray Cook Blue Goose 2.0 for my buddy. Shipped to my house. For year I had wondered about the feel and quality. Here is what I can tell you from hands on experience:
IT HAS EXCELLENT BALANCE! If my eyes were closed, you handed me this club and I air putted with it: there is NO way I would describe this as a "cheap" putter. I would have ZERO hesitation in looking at RC putters for myself the next time I need to replace mine.
HEAVIER THAN I ANTICIPATED (WHICH IS AWESOME!) - was expecting a lightweight "cheap-o club". This weight will teach a high handicapper how to putt vs just adjusting you level of whack with light cheapo box set putters.
GOOD GRIP! I am not a golf snob. I am a beer drinkin weekend warrior who can play well on occasion but is happy being around 90 golfing with my best friend, telling stories and having a buzz on. The grip feels GREAT in the hand SIZE wise and only feels a hair inexpensive compared to your $20-$30 putter grips. For the average person it is a great starting point.
GREAT SIGHT PICTURE: I set myself up over the putter and took a few practice swings. I would feel very confident in using this putter for both alignment and confidence.
MILLED FACE: Gotta love it.
All that being said - is this a technological wonder? NO! It's a very nice putter at an incredible price that will feel good in the hands, perform well and look great in the bag.
From reading countless other reviews I would recommend applying 1 or 2 coats of spray clear coat. About $4. This will ensure a long lasting paint finish.
For the price you just can't go wrong!
